I gave up trying to grow radishes and surrendered the plants to the butterflies and bees, then lo and behold a bonus salad ingredient the seed pods are delicious. I will grow them deliberately next year.

This tends to happen when temperatures are too warm. Radishes are cool weather vegetables.
