Could this be an 'Abutilon', guest? In your part of the UK, it's unlikely to survive outside. It could be grown in a pot and taken under cover (frost-free) for the winter. It's rather a sprawling climber. I'm afraid I don't know the particular one you have, but you could google it and find out more.

I think you must mean Abutilon 'Waltz' - this plant is said to be hardy in warmer parts of the country, grown against a southfacing wall in a sheltered spot. Doesn't sound like a description of Aberdeenshire, does it...

Adulation Waltz is a dance, common at weddings etc.

Really, never heard of it Bulbaholic. What's the difference between adulation waltz and an ordinary waltz then?

Maybe you swoon with the one and not with the other ;-)

You can get a frost in rural Aberdeenshire any month of the year! We had snow in June once to the point himself could not get teh car down the track!
