Well at that height, its probably easiest to just leave it! All that will happen is it will eventually turn brown and dry out completely - at that stage, a gale or strong wind is usually enough to bring it down. They usually get cut off on shorter palms once the flowers fade, but it won't harm the plant to leave it in place.
