Hi not sure how to use this site? I have sent three more photos of my red Robin if you have received them that's good? My answer to your question didn't go to you I think? Anyhow I planted these plants in beginning of September I have five of them. I prepared the ground well before planting using a good quality multi purpose compost. But something is eating them?

I think they look very healthy and wouldn't worry about the odd nibbled leaf.

I don't think its vine weevil - they mainly attack leaves in spring and summer and the holes are a different shape usually - have a look for them on Google. Its much more like slug damage. are there other plants around - slugs would be more likely to go for tenderer leaves if there are some but you never know. Something hungry at any rate!
If you put a little straight sided dish of beer by them any slugs around will go for a drink and drown.

Thanks... Yes I think u may be right? I've dug surrounding roots of plant no sign of grubs, only worms at present. I'll cadge some beer off someone and try see if it's slugs? .

I would - Bamboo's advice is never wrong...

Slugs like sweet drinks so lemonade works well - keep the beer for someone more deserving :-)

OK... Thanks.. But last night I noticed some fur like substance tucked away in the leaves that seem to have stuck the leaf partly together?? Now I have two problems?? Any advice on this latest find?

that will have a caterpillar inside it and that could well be the muncher. so peel the leaf apart and remove it. either squish it or pop it on a bird table if you have one. I tend to feed grubs to either the birds on the fish in our pond.

Breeziejac - yes you have done it correctly and as you can see your photos are now displayed.
Bamboo answered your first question by asking for a photo of the whole plant. She should now see that you have provided some and will answer you when she sees them.
