I want to move my 3 year old gunnera to a wetter area of the garden as it constantly dries out during the summer. When could I do this ?

I agree with Bamboo's suggestion. failing that, March providing it isn't frozen.

October would have been best, but so long as your garden is neither waterlogged nor frozen, you can risk it now. Just make sure that where you move it to isn't a frost pocket, or if it is a colder spot, give it some protection during colder spells.
