Which way do I plant these? Roots up or down?

if they are very long the thinner end will go down. they are a bit like a carrot, so buds will be towards the top. if you really cant tell then plant horizontally about 2 -3 inches deep. the shoots and roots will sort themselves out.
I assume gyp refers to Gypsophillia.
