Magnolia

I have planted a magnolia in my garden ( april) I think it's a grandiflora ( glossy leaves with a brown rusty coloured underside and white flowers) but not sure, it's leaves are turning yellow and dropping off is this normal

I wouldn't say they were all dropping , just a few at a time ... sounds like as you say quite normal , thanks for the help

All evergreens shed their leaves at some point - just not all at once in the autumn as deciduous ones do.
My magnolia grandiflora sheds leaves for a couple of months, a few at a time. But if they are all dropping, you have a problem!
