Has anyone tried cutting back a caryopteris? Mine is quite old, large and in a large pot. Parts of it didn’t flower last year, possibly due to frost or age.

These should be hard pruned early in the year, in March or April - I cut ours down to about two inches each year, but they're in the ground. That might be a bit much for yours, but have a close look at the stems near the base - if you can see growth buds or tiny new leaves, cut back to those. Also turn it out of its pot - it may be potbound and need a larger container.

How do I say thanks?
