OK These are the big fat lazy tulips with no flowers. They might be taken out and shot.

they need a watering though. I suspect it was environmental effects that left them blind. If it were me I'd plant them in the garden now , water well and feed and hope they perform next year.

Agree, feed them.

Looks like not enough sun, too little water, too little food, possibly too long in the pot. Possibly forced for early bloom last spring?

I think these are all done - compost heap. They are inexpensive and plentiful so I'd suggest start anew. New compost, new sunny location & new bulbs. They must have adequate watering. That pot is too small and they are very thirsty.

The bulbs are Apeldoorn that are 3 yrs old. Last year they were brilliant & the year before. I lift them & store them dry in the garage. The others were Queen of the Night & they were smaller this year.
I planted out 10 days apart on 2 sunny days. The compost was general purpose mixed with sand & grit with a touch of chicken manure /leaf mould.
The tub shown is huge & would accommodate a lot of tulip or daffodil bulbs.
Yes the bulbs are inexpensive & I do add every year but I still try to keep old ones going

My appledorn just get left in the ground. They were in the garden when we moved in and that was 24 yrs ago. In fact I don't lift any tulips. Most come back.

Mine are going on 5 years. They're in the ground. I don't do anything special to them but Spring is always plenty rainy

All tulips left on the ground in my front /back garden only last a couple of years. Daffs & everything else are fine. Some bulbs go crazy & a lot of plants just appear so I can't complain.

I find it depends on the variety - some are more likely to be stayers than others.

We had an atrocious wet spell followed by hardly any rain & a blistering wind. I normally try & protect bulbs against rot but I was too poorly to go out & water in drought. That said it was just a couple of pots in the wrong spot

How do I say thanks?
