This little house plant hasn't had much attention...it was amongst others by the Lidl's checkout. It must be 7 years old and today is the first time egg yolk coloured flowers have appeared. Could anyone identify if please?

It actually is a cactus. Grows on tree branches in dry tropical forest, though. Not out in the desert rocks and sand. Second cousin to Christmas cactus.

I love the cryptic appearance

This is a fun plant. Thank you for showing it. I googled it and found it is also known as Mistletoe Cactus, probably because it can grow on tree branches or in rocky areas or Drunkards Dream because the flower stems are bottle shaped. Very interesting plant.

I like this plant just for the name.
Succulent Hatiora salicornioides (Dancing Bones). Good find. This plant thrives on neglect -no wonder it's blooming. It's actually quite happy as it is. Close cousin of cacti - it doesn't ask for much. Dry gritty cactus mix that's free draining, bright indirect light, no sun for this one.
Dancing Bones Cactus Care. Place dancing bones in indirect light where the plant is protected from direct afternoon sunlight. Water regularly during the growing season. Allow the pot to drain thoroughly after watering and never allow the potting mix to remain soggy.
