well it flowers in spring and early summer and a couple of friends have said although pretty it becomes a thug spreading through the beds.

the RHS site says
A. sylvestris is a herbaceous perennial spreading rapidly by root suckers. The long-stalked leaves are mid-green and deeply divided. White flowers up to 8cm across, with golden stamens appear in late spring and early summer

Personally if you want Wild swan then refuse the substitute as it isn't what you were asking for.

Yeah...nothing like Wild Swan. I never accept substitutes. Usually when you order, there is an option where you can say no substitutes.

You are very welcome Callie. That is very cheeky of them when you ticked no substitutes. :(

A note on my experience with 'Wild Swan' when you manage to get it - it needs a soil that doesn't dry out. I lost it twice before finding the right position for it

That was nice to at least offer a substitute. It shows they value you as a customer. At least they were sincere.
