Can anyone help please,I have ordered Anemone wild swan on line, and they have now said they have substituted for it anemone sylvestris, could anyone tell me how this will perform.Thank you so much.

Yeah...nothing like Wild Swan. I never accept substitutes. Usually when you order, there is an option where you can say no substitutes.

Thank you very much,cottageKaren and Seaburngirl,I did tick to say no substitues, because I didn't want anything else.On this other one being a bit of a thug, I certainly do not want it.I will e mail them,keep your fingers crossed for me,thank you girls you have been very helpful.

A note on my experience with 'Wild Swan' when you manage to get it - it needs a soil that doesn't dry out. I lost it twice before finding the right position for it

That was nice to at least offer a substitute. It shows they value you as a customer. At least they were sincere.

well it flowers in spring and early summer and a couple of friends have said although pretty it becomes a thug spreading through the beds.
the RHS site says
A. sylvestris is a herbaceous perennial spreading rapidly by root suckers. The long-stalked leaves are mid-green and deeply divided. White flowers up to 8cm across, with golden stamens appear in late spring and early summer
Personally if you want Wild swan then refuse the substitute as it isn't what you were asking for.
