I have been given 2 japanese anamone which I planted 2 weeks ago.
They are beginning to have yellow edges around the leaves. Is this what should happen? I watered them in to my border and they seemed to do well at first.

they die back in the winter, and we've had a bit of chilly weather, perhaps they're starting to "autumn" as well, otherwise, have you kept them sufficiently watered? They do like a shady situation with dampish soil.

You may have to wait a year or two for them to flower Guest. Japanese anemones have a reputation for "sulking" when moved. Just keep them watered if we have dry weather, feed lightly in spring and hope they'll get over it by next summer. When they've re-established their root system I expect they'll oblige and once they're settled they don't need a lot of looking after.
