In July 2015 I was bought a standard rose with deep red blooms. This has followed every year so far. However the few roses now blooming are white and buds appear white too. Any reason for the colour change?

I suspect the growth flowering now is from below the graft and that was a white rose. The red part has died.

Hi, thanks to both of you. I thought this might be the reason but it seemed strange to happen so suddenly. I have just found the original card which came with the rose. It's a Hybrid Tea called Special Dad. I guess I shall have to enjoy looking at white roses now. Thanks again.

Hi, was the rose grafted perhaps?
