I've got a lot of Erica élus compost, can I use it for planting patio fruit trees?

Unlikely, but depends on the fruit - apples like a neutral to slighty acidic soil, but suffer in very acidic conditions, so you'd probably have to amend with lime. would be good for blueberries though.
