I agree with tugs id
I grew them in pots one year but they didn't survive the winter even in the greenhouse. just too cold I guess.

Thanks folks, the only reason I asked is because I had them given to me, and the label read Orchid Lily. I looked them up on the internet and couldn’t find any orchid lily that resembled them. But now you’ve cleared it up many thanks.

Looks like Crinum americanum or Swamp Lily - an aquatic lily commonly found in Florida and the Carolinas in wetlands and along river banks. Also known as spider lily - related to onion.

Same family, Bathgate, but in Crinum the bases of the anthers aren't fused into a funnel like on the Hymenocallis species.

OK, thanks for that. I know I've seen these displayed at the NY Botanical Gardens. I thought that's what they said about them.

Well, like all of us, even botanical gardens aren't infallible.

for now just 'better than'. You'll be perfect when you get to Heaven.

I know it as one of the many things called spider lily, or as Peruvian daffodil (Hymenocallis x festalis)
