how long are the roots on a cordyline

Actually, despite the size of the trunk on some plants, they're not difficult to dig out. I dug out one recently using a mattock. Took about 5 mins, and the palm was 15ft tall, the trunk 8in. thick. Surprised me. Obviously the roots will spread, but they're not a problem in among other plants, and don't seem to be demanding like broad leafed trees. Phil J
