Hessayon says to prune in June...easy to remember. Pinch young shoots back to five leaves. Thin out the fruits in late September...not the pea sized ones at the end of the shoots....they are for next year. In late September or maybe later, where you are, remove fruits that have not ripened. Give the bush a spring clean when you bring it out of its winter protection ,whatever that is.
