Hi. We have a huge swathe of snowdrops at the bottom of the garden and they flower beautifully every year. I thought it would be nice to get some early spring colour outside the conservatory next year And I was going to dig up some snow drop as and plant them outside there along with some Iris. A friend tells me that the snowdrops won’t come next spring because now isn’t the correct time to transplant them. Could anyone tell me if this is true please??
Many thanks

Never had any bother lifting and moving Snowdrops at this time of year. Since flowering is determined by growth last year, moving the bulbs now should have no effect on flowering.

Thank you very much. That’s great news, I’ll go out and get them moved now then.❤️

« This is doing well in our son's garden. Please could you name it for us?
if you lift the bulbs with plenty of soil around them they will still grow next spring. they may have started growing their roots which is why some fail as the roots get damaged. But if they are in a clump of soil they should be fine.
