If you are talking about the genus Impatiens then there are a few that grow this tall including the gorgeous and virtually hardy perennial Impatiens tinctoria that reaches 8ft.
If you are referring to the normal Buzzie Lizzie (Impatiens walleriana), thisdoes seem very large in the extreme!
