I have had success with my arum lilies for several years , this year only lush green leaves.did I cut back to severely last year,can I save my lovely plant.June, Swansea

Are you referring to the normal hardy white arum lily or one of the smaller more tender coloured flowered ones (calla lilies)?
If the former, they normally come back fine despite dying back to nothing in winter. You shouldn't need to cut them back at all as they die back naturally. You may have weakened the root stock by doing so. Alternatively the exceptionally cold winter may have weakened them.
