I have an open allotment and in Maidenhead SL6 3XU, &require some recomendation for soft fruit varieties before i purchase
(1) Strawberries, fruit to peak in June
(2) Blackcurrant, easy to pick
(3)Redcurrant, easy to pick
(4) Gooseberry, fairly sweet and easy to pick, not to vigorous and resistant to mildew
(5)Rhubarb, not to early but red

Hello Ian,
We have Invicta gooseberry which has been good on the non-mildew. It's true they tend to be susceptible otherwise. What about Victoria rhubarb?
There's a lot of detail in your question, or five! Have you tried using the site search facility (custom search) and having a good browse at what other gardeners have found successful varieties?
