Is anyone feeling the same as me regarding 'Make your garden perfect ' programme.....I've been feeling rather bored with it and I don't know why....I read how we all try to change our gardens into beautiful areas taking weeks and weeks to do it, whilst these gardens are so instantaneous.I wonder if the sense of achievement is the same. What does everyone think?

Not seen one all the way through yet as the programme so annoys me. I would not have any of the ones I have seen so far. And I am glad that my neighbours do not have the one I saw which had more lights than Blackpool Promenade. It is just another higher tech Makeover prog.

Well, I'm continuously inspired by others as well as trips I take and places I see. Is my garden ever really 'finished"? Maybe for the moment, but then life happens and I'm on to the next idea.

I watched 2 of them then gave up. The one I remember had a perfectly 'co-ordinated' house with each inside room they showed having brand new furniture etc. designed within an inch of its life. Each to their own with no comfy old scruff at all. So I can see why thay would want an 'immaculate' garden. I wonder if they will be surprised when the plants grow out of their allotted space and the weeds invade the borders.
However, I do wish there had been more episodes of Carol Klein's new programme.

Hi Julia, I’m not sure if I’ve may big plans afoot..maybe just a few small changes here and there.
I enjoyed Carol’s tv series too, albeit very short. Just my cup of tea!

The rule of thumb around here is that the garden that looks perfect the day you plant it, will require a machete to get around in in a year or two.

That did make me chuckle 🤭

There are clearly advantages to having no telly. I can get discontented with my mess without any help from perfectionists!

Hi Julia, I thought last nights ‘larger’ budget garden was the best transformation of the series so far - only because it seemed the most ‘normal’ so far to me.
I’m not a ‘modern’ gardener and I feel most of the gardens on the show are all ‘contemporary style’ and not traditional as I would prefer.
OH and I think the show is about people who want an instant ‘perfect’ (for them) garden with little care required.
I prefer the long term involvement, constant ‘out there in the garden’ with things to do.
I think the first 40 minutes of the show are all about the garden, how it is currently, the plan and design and then the tour of someone else’s garden...then the last part is the garden all done!
I’m not keen on the young chap’s designs, eg. The swimming pool conversion.
Sorry for rambling on!!!
