Thank you for your comments .I heard of the small widlife pond before,I may try that.I found few catterpillars so I doubt them the culprits. The leafcutter bees I wonder about that because I planted a seed mix of annuals to attract bees in the garden and it worked i had garden full of bees all summer. If its the bees I dont want to stop them visiting so i will have to put up with abit of leaf damage. thanks again

Slugs and snails= a small wildlife pond, with frogs to keep the numbers down.
Leaf cutter bees= Its only a few leaves on your roses so I wouldnt worry as they are hugely beneficial.
Vine Weevil= Empty pots and kill the grubs/ use nemetodes(expensive) or some rolled up corregated cardboard, and hope the vine weevil hides in there where you can check it in the morning and then squish her.
Lily beetles= Pick off by hand and squash.
Caterpillars= If you want butterflies then keep them, or just pick or flick them off.
