soggy lawn.

My lawn is a sloped area, at the bottom it gets very wet and does not drain very well. I was wondering if there is any particular trees/ shrubs that can be planted that are best suited for this area and will help to soak up some of the moisture.

I assume you're on fairly heavy/clay soil .. ? I think you really need to get rid of the excess water by using perforated drainage pipes or a *deep* soak-away - I don't think any plant would take up water fast enough to really help.

It would be better to tackle the drainage problem you have, really. Or - remove the turf and create a bog-garden! There are lots of plants that would revel in this! The only type of trees that enjoy really damp conditions are the Willow family, if you really want to plant something, but I don't think that they would solve the drainage ptoblem.
