Welcome to GoY. I had one many ago. This happened to mine and it was due to prolonged cold, frost and wind - Eileen has mentioned. Not very cold/UK winter hardy I think...

often happens due to wind burn especially if it is just the edges.
if its all the leaves has it had plenty of water?
