We have noticed over the last 12 months this weed growing in the lawns. I have tried to identify it,,,the nearest I can get is Plantain. I would appreciate your comments. And any advice as to how to get rid....maybe just a lawn
weed killer ??

it is indeed one of the native plantains. Plantago media [hoary plantain] probably.

easy to dig out using a knife/daisy grubber to 'gouge' it out leaving very little damage to the grass.

It does however have a good point - it is much better than dock leaves for nettle stings! I allow one to stay in our lawn for that very purpose. (Yes we do have some nettles on the boundary bank...)

How do I say thanks?
