I have spent days removing hedera which has come from next door by growing over the top and through a lapped fence. I'm wondering if there is blackout material on the market that I could attach to the fence to prevent shoots searching for the light on my side of the fence. Do you have any ideas please?

I don't have an answer to your question, but I do have a comment to make - I think its unlikely to stop the ivy anyway - I've seen it grow inside a 6 foot length of pipe and emerge the other end and carry on, so I'm not convinced it will make any difference. If you are on good terms with your neighbours, perhaps you could ask them to keep it trimmed back as far as is possible.
