What the heck is this? I have no recollection of planting it. Its leaves are quite stiff and somewhat fuzzy. Hope someone can set my mind at rest as I can't wait until the flowers open Thanks:-)

foliage reminds me of a wild scabious or one of the Knautia flowers.
it could be a type of echinacea. I'd persevere until the flowers open.
