lavenders do best in an open well drained sunny position. It will not be happy in the wet shade. It is a plant that grows well in the Mediterranian so this will give you a clue as to what they like. Growing them in pots always looks good also they get the drainage they need & you can move them around into the sunshine. They are tough if they are growing in the right conditions so you can plant them out now. Everyone should have lavender in their garden, it's easy, scented & the bees & butterflies love it.
