I have a clematis "Polish Spirit" against a 6ft x 6ft fence. It is flowering wonderfully at the moment and covers this space, which is exactly what I wanted.
I'm now wondering that after pruning next March time if I were to train it along horizontally it will also cover the next 6ft x 6ft fence . . . . 6ft x 12ft?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

yes it may well do but I think I 'd be tempted to prune half of it down and only half the stems of the others to train them over the next 6ft. does that make sense.

Thank you . . . . I'm sure it will the way it's growing at the moment and it was only planted in 2019!
