Owdboggy , thank you , I’ve added a pic of the leaves. I’ll Google Helianthus now

Do you think it’s similar to Rudbeckia Goldsturm ?

Don't think the leaves are correct for Rudbeckia. But the picture in my book on Daisies are similar. The ones on line are more toothed. Wait for Seaburn girl!

This does indeed look like Rudbeckia possibly Goldsturm or Hirta. There are so many varieties. I have several patches in my garden but I enjoy them. They bloom all summer and very little bothers them. They love full sun and dry gritty soil. You don't need to feed them. Yes they spread if they are happy and often I have to give them the 'chop chop. They are compatible with Echinacea, Helenium, Veronica and other prairie wild flowers.

I must’ve planted it as I have a couple of them in my garden. Not seen them before but I like them as they brighten up the garden.
Thank you all for your help , much appreciated

The seeds are like a very fine dust so they could have blown in from who knows where.

definitely a helianthus but not sure which one, there are so many of them on the market now.
the central disc is wrong for Rudbeckia [that is usually dark brown/black hence one of its common names of Black eyed Susan. To me that plant is Thunbergia alata a climbing perennial. Problem of common names!]

I'm going by the leaves as well. They look just like mine. The central disc changes color and form as the seeds mature. Mine start out as flat copper orange, then turn black cone shape as the seeds mature.
Rudbeckia Triloba - Brown Eyed Susan
Rudbeckia Hirta 'Irish Eyes' - Green Eyed Susan

I have taken photos this morning and will put them in a blog later to show the differences between Helenium/Helianthus/Rudbeckia. Then hopefully Jay will be able to decide which it is from the photos.

Possibly one of the many different types of Helianthus. Need a closer look at the leaves to see which one.
