Hi, quite new to gardening. My front garden is full of these plants, Polyanthus or primulas ? which were in when we bought the house a year ago. Apart from a few months in summer they have flowered constantly. I'm not complaining as they are lovely even in Jan/Feb. It's just that I thought they only flowered during spring. People walking past used to comment on their brilliant white flowers in the depth of winter. Is this normal and what are they please. Thanks, Barry

They are what is commonly known as Polyanthus primula. They are highly bred descendants of Primula elatior (Oxlips). In favourable positions they will flower all winter.
Once they do stop flowering, that is the time to split them up if you want more of them.

I agree on the identification and they may flower for months as you have found out.

How do I say thanks?
