I'm sure there is a way but I don't know what it is.
How do I get rid of a colony of ants in a half barrel that is housing a beautiful Acer. I know, I know, they are an asset to the garden...but in this tub they are a nuisance, especially when I am trying to plant smaller bedding plants in there as well. So please... is there a sure fire way to move them on ??

If you discover a humane way to do it please let me know! My garden is very anty. They don't seem to do any harm in a big pot but repotting is horrible...

sadly not to move them on. Ant 'sugar' is a poison they take into the nest and when they eat it it kills them.
