What time of year is best to sow your lavender seeds?

I sowed some last June and potted them on as needed. They are now lovely little plants about 6 inches high. Pinch out the top of the main shoot when it is about 3 inches, to make the plants bushy. They will be kept in a cold frame over winter and planted out in Spring. Cuttings are also very easy.
