I agree Tulsa, we found out recently that the difference between them and crickets is that crickets are nocturnal and not so green, the strangest thing is when using the ride on mower one sometimes 'hitches a ride ' on the steering wheel-- usually at the same pint on the lawn!

The rounded body makes me think it's a bush cricket, grasshoppers are more "boxy"

We get them, and grasshoppers, in the garden in the daytime.

It's a cricket, and a female. I can just make out the ovipositor, out of focus, at the tail end. They often come indoors at this time of year, along with the big black spiders. Phil J
