Good Afternoon All , can anyone put a name to this plant /shrub , it has a lovely scent and is not far from the sea , I had wondered if it was a Viburnum ? as they have white flowers in the winter , ( I also wondered if I could get a cutting from it ( it is not in anyone's garden !) many thanks , Lucy .

Eleagnus ebbingei (Silverberry), propagate from semi-hardwood cuttings. Mine also has these tiny flowers on it right now. Evergreen shrub.

I live about a mile from the sea and planted my Eleagnus shrub in 2010 in an East facing border. It is now about 7ft. high.

I look forward to these tiny flowers every year - they certainly do smell lovely - a bonus because you could easily miss them and never know you had this lovely perfume lurking in the shrubbery!
