I was given one some years ago and it lives outside in a medium sized pot. It never gets any attention but watering and sniffing the flowers but it seems quite happy. If planted out they can get quite big and yhoiu can cut them back if you want to.

as long as it is one of the hardy ones it will be fine outside. Some Jasmines are not hardy so perhaps put it in a cool porch if you are not sure.
