Is there any way of improving its looks? I thought of cutting off all the leaves in the spring. I don't know what causes the blotches and paleness, so I am keeping a it away from my other houseplants.
Please, any ideas of cause and improvement? Should I dispose of it?

I would make a complaint to the suppliers, they should send you another one. It's bad to expect people to receive defective goods.
