I’m looking to find a new water feature for our garden. LI want a circular bowl/dish, about 1m in diameter, where the water spills over the edge and can then run down over a series of waterfalls, into a deep pond at the bottom. Please can anyone ad use? Many thanks.

Have you got the muscle and tenacity to accomplish this task? Digging out a deep pond of about 30 inches you will have to consider the substrate you are dealing with which might be 6-8 inches of topsoil to dig out and the rest shale to chop your way though. 30 inches deep to allow for cushion underneath your pond liner. Then you must build an incline above the pond for your waterfall cascade using stone, soil and possibly concrete. Over this you must place another pond liner which will overlap the liner of the pond to prevent water leakage. Again, you must place more stone over the cascade liner for a natural look. At the top of it all goes your bowl tipped so the water falls out of the bowl onto your cascade. Then you must find the proper pond pump to place at the bottom of the pond with the hose directed to the top of the bowl. An electrician will be needed to provide the proper line from your home to the plugin outlet near the pond for the pump line to be connected to. To do the electric work yourself would be unwise as far as your homeowners insurance. Also once all is done you will discover that water has a mind of its own and might not go where you intended it to go. Take a look at my photo section to see the water features that I created which took years to do... what you want to do can be done but if you are up in years think about doing a simpler water feature than the one you described.....good luck!

Many of the larger garden centres have a good choice and if they don' t have just what you have set your heart on it might be worth asking them if their supplier has any like that. Do you have the deep pond already or will you have to dig it out? Is it to be connected to the mains or solar?

Thank you both for your answers.
Yes, Steragram, we have a large established pond. Our gardening on a gentle slope away from the house and the circular biowl would be surface mounted.
I’ll have a look in garden centres.
