Hi Steragram, thank you for your reply. I’ve never seen it before this year. I’ve a bad back so unable to do any gardening, my garden looks dreadful! This plant def brightened up my garden lol. I’ll keep the photos for future reference

yes evening primrose. The night flying insects love it.

Confirm evening primrose, it can be a perineal I find, but self seeds readily as biannual, like foxgloves
Sympathies with the bad back, I know just what it's like. If you can manage dead heading the EP it will prolong the flowering period

Thank you Seaburngirl & Grandad gar. It’s a very pretty flower. Really brightens up my garden. I’ve never seen one before. I will try to dead head as I’ve not got to bend too much to reach.

if you dead head all of it you won't get any seedlings for next year though.

Looks like an evening primrose, which is an annual. Is it self sown? It should self seed if you watch your weeding, so learn what the leaves look like!
