I have "inherited" an olive tree, in a pot and about 6ft tall but all the twigs have very few leaves, just at the tips of the twigs. I have trimmed out all the dead twigs, but I would hate to kill it by pruning too hard. How could I encourage it to better health? I found some tomato feed in the shed: does that help? The corner faces south and west.

If it has been in that small pot for a long time i would put it into a bigger one - this is a good time of year to do it.
