They are indeed fully hardy - winter wet can be a problem and lead to bulb rot, so soil should always be well-drained, but otherwise they are cold-resistant - despite their highly exotic appearance!

No - as far as I'm aware, they're hardy, so they can stay outside in a sheltered corner.
