I have removed most of ivy from my neighbours that was growing on our stone wall however some branches are so attached to wall and would damage wall if I try to prise them away IV started going at them with a wire brush and in time hoping this will weaken them I'm trying to attach a picture not sure if it will go on the message

Have you tried using a spray of vinegar? It may help to break down the fibers of the roots. Don't get it on any plants you want alive, though! Spray it and wait 5 or ten minutes, then try a scraper or wire brush to loosen it.
