what are the different types of soil?

Answers

Well - that's quite a question. I suspect that it's a homework or student one, but I'll try to help.

There are lots of different soils. The basic ones are loam, silt, clay, chalk, sand and peat. However, most gardens have a mixture, and the soils vary in their acidity/alkalinity and fertility, as well as the soil's ability to drain.

Go down to the bottom of the page and click on 'S' then click on 'Soil Types' and you will find lots of information

Why didn't I think of that, Mg, instead of wearing my poor brain out? LOL.

Because when I checked it isn't actually on Goypedia... though I would have thought it should be.

Hmmm...I'd agree with that, when I looked just now and saw some categories that are non-gardening! It's somewhat important for a gardening site, isn't it!
