I’ve been given an Orchid in a very tall glass container.I’ve never owned one & there is no instructions. HELP How do I water it & look after

For now I'd water it sparingly, so only a hint of water on the bottom of the container. It looks like a Phalaenopsis type.
When the flowers fade I'd be tempted to tip the orchid out and repot in orchid compost and use the glass as a vase.
