I have had what I know to be a Viburnum for quite a few years

It could also be a Virburnum Dawn apparantely, that has a slight scent.
Well, whatever it is, it is very beautiful and looks great in the garden.

I agree . It is a Viburnum × bodnantense. There are several kinds and I am not sure if all have a fragrance.I have one (quite old) against our deck and do not smell it unless I put my nose very close to it.

I still think you are correct. It could be Viburnum × bodnantense 'Charles Lamont or Dawn. My Viburnum has been flowering well before Christmas. I would have another sniff in the afternoon when the sun is on it.
