Here again , my neighbour has this lovely tree , but she doesnt know what it is , ( my Lady gardener isn't sure either ) can anyone identify it - it is the first to come into leaf and the last to shed it's leaves ! it's grown to be quite a large tree and has these small flowers / pods that burst , but we dont know what they are .

bit early for Lime and they tend to have a winged seed not a pod as such.
any chance of a close up of the leaves and flowers please?

Just from a distance I would guess that it's the Common Lime (Tilia x europaea) as I can't magnify the leaves and flowers.
