hello to you, i have a dilemma regarding a prayer plant which a friend brought me in August. Recently the plant has started to get holes on it's leaves and seems to be discolouring as well. When i went to water it the other day i found a worm like creature crawling on it, i removed the creature and did not find anymore. Could you advise me to help the plant back to it's former glory please, it is a lovely plant and i do not want to loose it.

Need to establish quite what you mean by Prayer Plant - this appears to be the common name for a form of Maranta, a tropical plant, grown here as a houseplant. Is this what you mean? I'm somewhat puzzled by the presence of a "worm" on a houseplant...

I expect it was a caterpillar of some sort. So, picking it off should have solved the problem. The older leaves will discolour as they get past their sell by date! Just trim them off. However, if it is the newer leaves that are yellowing you need to investigate further... is it being over or under-watered, does it need repotting or feeding?

How do I say thanks?
