I've had a self sown plant growing in my garden this year - annual, lots of leaf on stems about 3' tall, cup shaped blue flowers then seed pods in lanterns like this - can't, for the life of me, remember what it's called!!

It's the Shoo-Fly plant (Nicandra physalodes).
The calyx looks very like the closely related genus Physalis, hence the species name. Nice skeletonisation of those calyxes too :-)
I have a similar effect on my Physalis (picture in my photo's) skeletonised by slugs and snails!
