I planted potatoes in bags recently, they've been growing well and got 3/4 up the bags when the leaves have all died on them. can you tell me will the potatoes be ok or as this damaged them as well? I planted them this time last year and every thing was fine.

Did the foliage look diseased before it died off? There may be only small potatoes underground as they haven't had much time to develop. Any spuds that are there should be OK to eat.

If you have them sitting outside they possibly got frosted. Growing potatoes for eating in mid winter you really need them in a greenhouse - even then the frost can get them if it is too cold.

How do I say thanks?
